Recurring Boils
Recurring Boils and How to Treat Them
Recurring boils is usually a sign of disharmony in the body, but they look unsightly and finding a cure for them can be disheartening. Physicians state that recurring boils are actually are an abscess of the skin and therefore carry infection, so they need to be treated in a timely manner. There are different types of boils so it’s important to determine what type of boil it is and how to treat it.
The infection in recurring boils is actually known as staphylococcus aureus. Simply put, this is a form of staph infection and needs to be stopped in its tracks before causing further infection in the body. This infection can show up initially in different ways. Any portion of the skin that shows evidence of eczema is a possible site for a recurring boil. Another possible site on the skin where recurring boils might show up is any part of the skin where scabies was present. Scabies in the skin is a huge breeding ground for this infection because it is caused by small parasites not visible to the naked eye. These parasites are called skin mites and they bore tiny holes and pathways into the skin and cause irritation.
Shockingly another reason for recurring boils is obesity. Obesity is a sign of a metabolic upset, and when that happens it affects your skin. A disturbance in metabolism means that your adrenal glands are not functioning properly. When the adrenals are not functioning properly your pores have a tendency to clog, but many are not aware that these two functions in the body are interrelated. When the adrenals are under control your skin will be functioning at its best. The skin is after all your largest organ.
Patients who have a poor immune system function also suffer from boils. When you are healthy and your immune system is working properly then your body has the ability to fight infection and ward off the staph that causes these boils. The pus that is at the heart of these boils is usually caused by the formation of the white blood cells. The cells begin to gather here but are unable to do their job because when infection is flourishing your white cell count is too low. Recurring boils then show up since the body is unable to fight off the infection.
This is particularly challenging for those who are diabetic and those who are HIV positive. Doctors say that these patients have colonies in their nasal chambers that hold these bacteria that are relative to these boils showing up.
For someone who tends to get sick on a regular basis is subject to getting these recurrent boils as well. This goes back to having a weak immune system but if you know that your system isn’t as strong, you may want to ask your doctor about taking supplements that are rich in vitamins and minerals to help give your immune system a boost. The stronger your immune system is the better your body will be able to fight off these recurring boils.
Genetics may possibly play a part in those who get recurring boils. There is a gene that is carried by those who are susceptible to getting these boils. This is the same idea for those who carry a certain gene for specific cancers. Those who get recurring boils are no different, and carry this gene that can transfer from one family member down to another.
The best thing to do when getting these recurring boils is to see your doctor right away, and they may want to go ahead and culture what is inside the boil. This would give them insight into what is going on in the body, and help them help you to find a viable treatment.
